Helping Hearts, Caring Souls: A Night of Giving and Inspiration

 

he Helping Hearts, Caring Souls (HHCS) Fundraising Dinner & Entertainment, hosted by Friends of Pakistan (FOP) on February 16, 2025, at Shahi Mahal Restaurant in Lakewood, CA, was a powerful evening of generosity, storytelling, and philanthropy. The event aimed to support disability rights, inclusive education, and food security, bringing together community leaders and influential figures to make a difference.

A Mission Led by Friends of Pakistan

Key FOP leaders, Arif Mansuri, Jamal Khawaja, and Kamal Zafar, inspired attendees, emphasizing the life-changing impact of their contributions. Their words motivated guests to donate generously in support of HHCS’s mission.

Anjum Anwar’s Inspiring Journey

Renowned CPA Amna Paryani shared the remarkable story of Anjum Anwar, founder of HHCS. Once living a luxurious life in the U.S., Anjum’s perspective changed after a tragic event in Pakistan, leading her to dedicate herself fully to humanitarian work. Moving back to Pakistan, she focused on supporting disabled individuals, providing medical aid, therapy, and life-saving surgeries. Amna assured attendees that 100% of donations go directly to those in need.

Anjum Anwar’s Speech: The Power of Giving

Anjum highlighted how HHCS has transformed thousands of lives, from prosthetic limb replacements to critical surgeries. She stressed that even a $100 donation could restore independence to a person in need. Her powerful words left a lasting impact on the audience.

Toni Atkins Applauds the Pakistani Community

Toni Atkins, former California Senate President Pro Tempore and a 2026 gubernatorial candidate, praised the Pakistani community’s generosity and dedication to humanitarian efforts, emphasizing the importance of unity in supporting marginalized communities.

A Night of Music, Giving, and Hope

The evening featured a captivating musical performance by Malaika Faisal, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Thanks to Friends of Pakistan and Anjum Anwar’s leadership, the event reinforced the power of philanthropy, inspiring attendees to continue supporting underserved communities.

A special thanks was extended to the dedicated host committee, whose efforts made this incredible night of giving a success.
