Daily Times, prominently featured the Friends of Pakistan (FOP) community organization as a driving force behind Pakistan's diplomatic efforts in the U.S. during Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh’s recent visit to California. At an FOP-hosted event in San Jose, the ambassador praised the organization for its critical role in building U.S.-Pakistan ties, particularly in trade, technology, and cultural exchanges. The article highlighted FOP’s impact, with Ambassador Sheikh encouraging the community to leverage Pakistan’s competitive edge in skilled labor and investment opportunities. Recognizing FOP’s influence, *Daily Times* portrayed the group as a dynamic bridge between Pakistani-Americans and key U.S. sectors, underscoring its essential contributions to bilateral relations.
Friends of Pakistan is elated to announce yet another historic achievement: the Orange County Board of Supervisors officially declared August 14, 2024, as Pakistan Independence Day in Orange County, California, with our organization's name proudly included in the resolution. A framed copy of the resolution was presented to members of the Friends of Pakistan delegation at a prestigious ceremony held at the OC Board Meeting Hall. We were honored by the presence of the Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Asim Ali Khan, whose participation underscored the importance of this occasion. This monumental milestone highlights our unwavering dedication to advancing the Pakistani community’s presence and influence. We extend our deepest gratitude to Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee and his exceptional team for their pivotal role in bringing this landmark resolution to fruition.
